Jim Lane is editor of Biofuels Digest, based in Miami. He has authored more than 400 articles on the biofuels industry.
Jim also serves as Chairman of the American Biofuels Council; is a partner in Eos Biofuels, a Florida-based fuel marketer; and is a principal in the New York investment bank Nova Global Markets Group, specializing in energy and media projects in Africa and Latin America. He is also a director of LCW LLC, and Airnalysis LLC.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Lane served publisher of the Official Airline Guides (OAG); publisher of Golfing magazine; and general manager of the Inc. 500-ranked JSA Publishing. He is author of seven books and his articles appear in Wikipedia, Mac News Network, the Journal of Corporate Renewal and Biofuels Digest among other media.
Jim is also active in politics, serving as Democratic Party precinct leader for Key Biscayne, FL and as a state convention delegate. He advises numerous campaigns and officials on energy issues.
Lane comes from a family with a strong energy background. His grandfather, J. F Lane, was head of Chevron Research, and his great-uncle, H.D. Collier, was Chairman of Standard Oil of California and founder of Aramco.
He earned an honors BA from the University of Washington. He lives in Key Biscayne, FL and Lake Arrowhead, CA with his wife Flavia and daughter Isabel.
